I had the honor of meeting a fabulous newly married couple at the Crush Wine Lounge above Waterway Park in the Woodlands this month, to photograph their after-wedding reception party with their friends and family. Crush Wine Lounge is a really great place for a party, or just to hang out, so I was really excited to get a chance to shoot an event at this location, especially for such a fun and inspiring occasion.
Every once in a while, a session comes along that really takes your breath away. This glamour and beauty boudoir inspired photography session for a gorgeous young woman in Spring combined so much of what I love about shooting concepts – a confidant subject, a stunning location with incredible light, careful styling and appropriate props, and the chance to get a little more creative. I think we shot for almost three hours, until the sun went down. All it takes is one little idea, and a beautiful series of photographs blossoms. This family in the Woodlands was so touching during their family portrait session. Loving on mom, hugging mom, smiling at mom. And of course, it makes me smile just to see mom smiling and feeling her happiness, being surrounded by the ones she loves. I love meeting families like these for family portraits, and being let into their world just for a short time and capturing the connection they share.

This little guy was the sweetest thing ever! Four siblings came together for extended family photos this fall, to celebrate the birthday of the matriarch of the family, and each family received their own set of family portraits. I had a great time with all of them, and this boy just made my day with his shy smiles.

This family came to me for extended family portraits, and I love how these beautiful sisters styled the family! I want to take this opportunity to thank all my fabulous clients from 2013 for making it a really stellar year!! I had the opportunity to meet some amazing families, couples, children and high school seniors as well as local artists and business people for headshots and I truly enjoyed working with all of you. Thank you for making 2013 a wonderful year, and I look forward to seeing you again, and meeting my new 2014 clients.
Here are the highlights from the year. In 2013 I had two of my images accepted into juried shows, saw my work featured on several fantastic websites devoted to inspirational photography, was honoured to be interviewed for a few online blogs for senior photography and film work, developed dozens of rolls of film, saw two Ron Burgundy impersonations from hilarious clients, lost countless lens caps, and spotted about a hundred deer in the woods. Pretty good year, in all.
Can’t wait to see what this year brings!
This lovely lady booked a family session that included her sister’s family and their parents (more photos from the extended family session to come!) for holiday portraits of the whole family together. I always make sure to shoot each family unit individually too, so everyone gets their own family photograph as well. Beautiful family, and I can’t wait to share more!

I have to say, I get a little star struck when local celebrities call up for headshots! I was really excited to meet this local actress at her home in the Woodlands for new headshots to reflect her new look. She’s a beautiful person, inside and out, and so much fun to work with. I wish her all kinds of continued success with her career.

I had SUCH fun at this session! Super cute couple, willing to let me play with all my funny lenses and film cameras, plus I made them trek all over the area and they never grumbled but made it all fun. The rain came out in a fine mist off and on, but they soldiered on through that too! Big big share from this session, since they were oh so fun to pose!
One thing I love about shooting engagement couples, maternity and seniors is how I get to take my time and play with some specialty lenses I can use with still subjects. Love this lens! No photoshop magic here!

A little engagement portrait preview for this beautiful (and really fun!) couple who are getting married in just a few short weeks! It was an honour to do their engagement portraits here in Spring, and thankfully the rain wasn’t too bad – we kept our eye on the weather for weeks, hoping not to get a total rain out!
