Pretty Natural Senior Pictures – Creekside and East Shore The Woodlands

This gorgeous senior wanted to mix it up for senior pictures in the Woodlands and have a variety of styles to show off all sides of her – from the casual and natural, to the soft and girly, to the dramatic and glamorous. We chose two locations for different elements, with a field and flowers and golden sun, and some pathways for framing, and then off to the picturesque white picket fence with red blooms for the final hour of her senior session.

This natural location is perfect for the casual outfit, with trees and flowers and a little pond for an environmental feel. Bringing a casual outfit, like jeans or shorts, is a good idea since it allows for seated poses that won’t work in a dress.

Moving into this beautiful flower field right at sunset, we caught some amazing hazy light. This light is perfect for soft, ethereal portraits, with a golden glow. Her super trendy romper was a great match for this environment, in peony pink and stylishly cut on the sides.

Then it was off to our second location, at East Shore in the Woodlands, to catch the last rays of light on the red blooms. She had a perfect day for her senior pictures, and we found some gorgeous directional light at the white gates. This pretty location was perfect for both outfits, the pink romper and the classy little black dress.

To personalize her senior pictures, this senior paid homage to her Sri Lankan heritage with a traditional osari dress and pose. The white picket fence makes an interesting backdrop with leading lines and red flowers on their sides to frame her.

Old Hollywood Style Glamour – Senior Photography the Woodlands

Looking for something a little different for your senior pictures here in the Woodlands, Spring and Conroe? How about shooting a set during your senior photoshoot in Old Hollywood Glamour style!?

We finished up this Woodlands senior’s senior pictures around the Waterway and gardens, in a more natural style and then for one last outfit change she switched to this drop dead gorgeous red dress for some classic and classy portraits using the amazing light in the canals. Having variety in your senior pictures is so important, and also gives you a chance to do something unique and fun! When planning your senior portrait session, show your school pride and bring along your high school Letterman jacket. You worked hard for those badges and accomplished great things during your time in high school, so show them off with great portraits that your parents will want to print and share with the family. Fun and Quirky Seniors in the Woodlands – Senior Photographer

All my clients here in the Woodlands, Spring and Conroe have such style and personality, it’s so fun to meet each new senior and get pictures of their individuality! This senior chose classic portraits for her first set, and for this second set she let her fun and quirky personality loose for some portraits unique as she is — complete with fun props!

So we got creative for this second half, for some different environmental portraits unlike what you see from most standard senior photography. I like to get some collaborative and creative shots during a senior shoot, and my clients always have great ideas for poses too!

I love this amazing shot of her at the fence. Gorgeous eyes!

For her last outfit change, she went trendy but casual with one of the season’s hottest trends — colourful jeans! Paired with the black hat, jean jacket and vintage style tee, it’s a fantastic outfit that makes a statement for her senior pictures. And those cool chic glasses! Love them! Her whole personality and style just shines through.

This set up and pose was all this clever girl’s idea! I really like it when seniors get into creative mode for their senior pictures, coming up with fun props (like this HUGE calculator and geek chic glasses!) and pose ideas.  I really like the humour she brought to her senior session, it was so much fun to shoot!

The Woodlands Senior Portraits – Show Your Smile

This sweet and cheerful senior was so easy to photograph – her sunny personality just shone through in every portrait! We chose a location in the Woodlands for her senior photos, where the garden provided a lot of pretty greenery to match her down to earth and easy going nature. We almost got rained out, but we crossed our fingers and ended up with a beautiful day with some cloud cover and light sun, a perfect shooting day for her senior pictures!

I love her outfit choice here —  the classic white dress and jean jacket combination is perfect for senior pictures! Throw in the cowboy boots, and now you’re Texas style!

Senior Boy Portraits in the Woodlands – Just Add a Truck

What guys want from their senior portrait session and what girls want are usually very, very different things. Here at Shannon Stroubakis Photography in Spring and the Woodlands, my goal is to create a photoshoot for your senior pictures that gives you what you want and what you need so you’re entirely happy with your senior pictures.  So for boys, who don’t want to fuss and don’t need a long session to accommodate various fashion and hair styles, I have a special mini shoot designed just for them. An hour in length, a small collection of amazing photos for your graduation cards and announcements, a proofbook so you have them in printed form, and still enough time to get several outfits in there as well.

For this College Park senior, his vision for his senior pictures was to include his favourite possession — his truck! We made that happen by driving it into the field with plenty of space (and no distracting elements like a parking lot full of cars or telephone poles) and getting a variety with both close up portraits and sweeping wide angle shots. Then we moved out to the field for some classic portraits for the announcements.

The Woodlands Senior Photographer – Senior Style

One thing I love about my job is I get to meet clients here in the Woodlands, Spring and Conroe who are in such a fantastic time in their lives — graduating from high school, getting ready for prom, celebrating their senior year, and looking forward to what the next year has in store for them.  It’s such a fun time, and everyone is always excited!

For senior pictures, we want to wrap all that excitement into a great day of shooting and just having fun! For the girls, their hair and make up has been professionally styled by an amazing stylist I’ve arranged for them, so they’re relaxed and ready for the shoot. I meet with all my clients before the session, so we already know exactly what types of shots we are after!

This lovely senior student from College Park had a fabulous sense of style. Beautiful, colourful and a little quirky! I love the combination of the fun teal dress with the spunky red heels.

Classic and Modern Senior Portraits – The Woodlands

If you’re looking for an updated twist on the classic portraits, you can never go wrong with a beautiful dress in a fun and different location. Instead of a studio backdrop, wear your formal dress outside, on location around the Woodlands, and make use of architectural elements.

This sweet girl is classic and timeless. For her senior portraits, she went girly and glam with pretty dresses and formal lines for the first half of her session around town in the Woodlands. We wanted elegant and graceful posing, to match her polished look.

Moving around the location, we wanted to highlight her gorgeous prom dress against a plain wall. When shooting, I always try to make the subject stand out as much as possible and avoid busy backgrounds with distractions. This way we get the best of both worlds — the blank wall reminiscent of a studio but without the confining space and with beautiful airy natural light.

Gorgeous Golden Light – Senior Pictures in Spring TX

Timing is everything. The light is so gorgeously mellow and warm in the last hour before the sun sets, and this is when magic happens, truly. Since a senior portrait session with Shannon Stroubakis is up to three hours long so we can fit in all your outfit changes over the locations, your session is carefully planned so the locations, light, and outfits all coordinate together perfectly.

Beautiful Khrissy booked her senior session with me and after she had her make up professionally done we headed out to the woods to catch some gorgeous backlighting on her amazing ombre hair. We were looking for the perfect spot to shoot some pictures for her senior graduation announcements!

Khrissy had some seriously amazing styling happening! The boho style headband was simple and natural, just perfect for our outdoors locations. Then a quick outfit change, she goes from au naturale to girly and glam. I always advise my senior clients to wear heels or espadrilles for their high school senior pictures. They elongate the legs for a gracelook look and force you into perfect posture which helps with posing.  This little peach dress is a great example of what to wear for your senior portraits for when you want a feminine style – dreamy, flowy in the breeze, and a pretty soft colour that photographs well. It’s also the perfect length for senior portraits — short enough for the hot spring day but not a micro mini so it’s still possible to be comfortable and modest for seated poses. And she rocked those poses!

Senior Portraits in the Woodlands: Chic Urban

This senior portrait session was SO much fun and wow did she manage to fit a lot of different outfits into her photoshoot! My goal for senior pictures is for clients to showcase their style, all sides of themselves, so if you can fit half a dozen wardrobe changes in there, go for it! This is Part 1 of Alyssa’s senior picture session here in the Woodlands. She started out with some high fashion senior photos with urban styling and bright colours and tons of pretty accessories.
