Urban Senior Session – The Woodlands

I LOVE urban sessions, shooting in and around buildings and the streets. This is the first part of this high school session, using the amazing light in a parking garage in the Woodlands. Parking garages are incredible for shooting senior pictures — the light is perfect, there are plenty of little spots for posing and you get a more urban, street vibe to your senior pictures.

If you’re looking for a more urban style senior session, for a modern look for your senior portraits, this is a great location option! After the parking garage, we’ll shoot around the streets, using urban elements like brick, glass, windows and city scenes. More to come from this urban session!

Senior and Yearbook Portraits – The Woodlands Senior Photographer

I met this handsome, dapper young man for his senior portraits to use for the yearbook page celebrating senior year, and I was so impressed with his sense of style and polished look! We had many people around the park compliment him on how handsome and fashionable he looked. It’s always nice to see a young man in a suit, all put together and looking sharp!

The Woodlands Photographer – Senior Portraits for The Guys

When it comes to senior portraits, what the guys want and need is very different from what the girls want and need, as far as number of outfit changes and styles go, and in overall time invested in the senior photoshoot. Here at Shannon Stroubakis Photography in Spring and the Woodlands, my goal is to create a photoshoot for your senior pictures that gives you what you want and what you need so you’re entirely happy with your senior pictures.  I have a special mini shoot designed just for them. An hour in length, a small collection of amazing photos for your graduation cards and announcements, a proofbook so you have them in printed form, and still enough time to get several outfits in there as well.

Natural Senior Pictures Outdoors in Spring, Texas

This set is the second half of this lovely senior’s photoshoot, after we moved from town to the country! She had the *perfect* day for senior pictures. Not cold, not hot, beautiful cloud cover with a touch of golden sun, and a light breeze — amazing day! This field was the right location for a more natural and laid back set to add to the classic set at the Waterway. Dressed down, wearing organic and natural shades of blue and green and brown, she looks amazing and right at home in the flowers and field!

Such gorgeous hazy warm light on that amazing long hair!

Au Naturale Boho Senior Session in Spring, Texas

This amazingly stylish senior had a clear vision for part of her senior session — this bohemian styled theme session, complete with white dress, flowers and bare feet. With her long gorgeous hair, and pretty posing, we ended up with a breathtaking set of boho senior pictures along with her regular set of senior portraits from the first half of her session. The Woodlands, Spring and Conroe area is fantastic for styling a boho type senior photography session, since we have plenty of fields, flowers and trees for earthy environmental portraits. If you want to add a specific theme to YOUR senior session, we can have fun planning it at your pre consultation before the session. Pretty Natural Senior Pictures – Creekside and East Shore The Woodlands

This gorgeous senior wanted to mix it up for senior pictures in the Woodlands and have a variety of styles to show off all sides of her – from the casual and natural, to the soft and girly, to the dramatic and glamorous. We chose two locations for different elements, with a field and flowers and golden sun, and some pathways for framing, and then off to the picturesque white picket fence with red blooms for the final hour of her senior session.

This natural location is perfect for the casual outfit, with trees and flowers and a little pond for an environmental feel. Bringing a casual outfit, like jeans or shorts, is a good idea since it allows for seated poses that won’t work in a dress.

Moving into this beautiful flower field right at sunset, we caught some amazing hazy light. This light is perfect for soft, ethereal portraits, with a golden glow. Her super trendy romper was a great match for this environment, in peony pink and stylishly cut on the sides.

Then it was off to our second location, at East Shore in the Woodlands, to catch the last rays of light on the red blooms. She had a perfect day for her senior pictures, and we found some gorgeous directional light at the white gates. This pretty location was perfect for both outfits, the pink romper and the classy little black dress.

To personalize her senior pictures, this senior paid homage to her Sri Lankan heritage with a traditional osari dress and pose. The white picket fence makes an interesting backdrop with leading lines and red flowers on their sides to frame her.

Country and Boho – Spring TX Senior Portraits

With unlimited outfit changes and two locations, you are sure to get variety in your senior portraits when you book a session here! This senior had the first part of her session in trendy clothes and an outfit to homage her acceptance to Baylor U!  For the second portion of her senior photoshoot,  we took it out to the country fields for a more natural look and some beautiful boho styling.

A floral crown and a lacy white dress is such a gorgeous way to style your session, for a down to earth boho shoot that won’t look dated years from now. It’s fresh and light, and so lovely against the backdrop of spring greenery and a country road. Timeless, but a modern twist!

Classic and Timeless Senior Pictures in the Woodlands, Texas

What I love about meeting each graduating class of high school seniors for their senior pictures is how unique they all are and how they bring that to their senior portraits. Fun and quirky, classic and traditional, carefree and smiley, each senior has their individual personality that just shines through and makes their photos different.  For each high school senior, I take into account their personal style and carefully pose each senior in a way that reflects that.  This Woodlands High senior was all class and grace, with such a sunny and smiley personality that her photos can’t help but show her sense of humour and beauty!

Fresh and Natural Senior Photography – Spring, Texas

This gorgeous senior from The Woodlands brought so many beautiful outfits and ideas for her senior pictures, we had a lot of fun running around this pretty location to fit them all in! One of this year’s hottest trends is the romper, and this senior showed her style with her wardrobe choices! With the Luxe Senior Session, you get treated to professional hair styling and make up application, so this senior was picture-perfect and ready to shoot!

I like to mix casual poses with serious, since they make for a great variety of both colour and black and white shots. This senior rocked both, with her beautiful smile and serious looks. And she brought this lovely bouquet of flowers as a pretty prop.

Time for an outfit change, and we moved to this pretty gazebo surrounded by greenery. I love how her flowy spring romper matches the light and airy atmosphere of the white gazebo.

I am always looking for natural elements, leading lines and framing when I’m shooting senior portraits, to add interest and variety to your senior session. What to Wear for Senior Pictures in the Woodlands and Spring – Girly Spring Dress Edition

Getting ready for senior pictures? I have already posted about how to wear your favourite cowboy boots for your senior portraits, so go check out that blog post here: What to Wear for Senior Pictures in the Woodlands and Spring – Cowboy Boots Edition. This time, since it’s spring, let’s talk about those pretty pretty girly dresses we all love to wear when the warm weather finally arrives!

With your senior portrait session here with Shannon Stroubakis, your senior photographer in the Woodlands, Conroe, Oak Ridge, Tomball and Spring, you get THREE hours and all the outfit changes you can cram in there. Awesome, right? So you have your trendy outfit, your favourite jeans, your letterman jacket, and maybe your prom dress or your favourite cosplay costume all packed up and ready to go. To round out your senior portraits, and celebrate spring, consider showing your sweet girly side with a flowy spring dress in an airy neutral or pastel shade, to match the spring flowers.

Do you see yourself in a long white eyelet dress, with a big floppy sunhat and espadrilles? Or maybe a short and flirty sundress in floaty chiffon, the colour of spring daffodils or mint? Choose the colour palette you want to build off, from neutral to vibrant florals, taking into consideration the vibe you want to give off — sweet and innocent, fresh and bright, or airy and emotive.

ADD ACCESSORIES
Glam your outfit up or down with hats, scarves, belts and boots. Go shabby chic with tasseled headpieces and feathers, or boho style with a floral crown with barefeet. Keep the colour tones in mind and try to mesh your accessories so they make sense — natural fibres with earthy toned clothing, petite and girly for feminine and airy sundresses, nude heels with classic styles.

When we talk about which location suits your personal style best, we’ll go over all your outfit choices and narrow down which location in the Spring and Woodlands area best fit you. It makes sense to to shoot out in a flower field if you are looking for a more au naturale type session, with a spring dress in nature tones. If you want to go glam and trendy and pair your spring dress with heels and shopping bags, we’ll head to a more urban location. It’s all up to you!
