Family Photographer in the Woodlands in the Park

We had a lovely afternoon for these family portraits in the park, with just the right mix of sunlight and cloudy skies to make for beautiful light! This family was styled to perfection too – blue and peach are two colours that photograph beautifully and they mixed up the shades enough to make their colour palette more complimentary. I just loved the happy faces of the children, they were so cooperative for the family photoshoot, which made my  job so easy!  Great family fun!

Now Offering At Home Newborn Sessions – The Woodlands and Spring Family Photographer

I’m now offering at home newborn sessions, for families who prefer a relaxed and family oriented approach to newborn photography. These sessions take place in your own home, at your convenience.  At home newborn sessions emphasize  the welcoming of a new life in your home, without artificial props and posing.  Our goal is to photograph your family in a more natural way, in your own environment, and focuses on the love and comfort we feel together as family.

RETAINER: $200 for a 2 hour session.  Travel fees may apply if you live outside the Woodlands area.
COLLECTIONS: I offer 3 Collections, with full resolution digital images, starting at $625. Top Collections include wall portraits or albums, and print credits.

If you have older children, posing with their new sibling at home is a safe, comfortable place for them to hold and pose with the new baby.  Lifestyle sessions are home are often preferred in black and white, but we’ll have color as well.

We will also take photos of your newborn, without forced poses. This is a good opportunity to use any special blankets or clothes.

At Home Family Portraits – Tomball and the Woodlands

There are many reasons why you might like to have your family portraits taken at home. Maybe, like this beautiful family who I met last year for their family portraits outdoors when they were a family of three, you have a newborn baby who is just a little too young and delicate to take outside in the cold weather!  I just adore this family, they’re always so happy and peaceful and just a joy to spend some time with, and their little ones are just beautiful! New little brother joined for the family portraits this year, and the weather took a cold turn, so we moved the shoot indoors and made use of their gorgeous master bedroom for some cozy at home family portraits.

The Woodlands Photographer – Family Generations

This lovely family met with me on a beautiful sunny day for family portraits, with three generations. I love family portraits that include grandparents and grandchildren, as these are the priceless family photos we share and pass down for years to come. As a family photographer here in the Woodlands, Spring, and Conroe, it’s always nice to meet new people and get a chance to watch them have fun while they make memories!

I also really like the colours and style they chose for their family pictures, with the red and blue together with the denim. It’s classy and colourful, but still casual enough so you don’t feel too formal for your family portraits.

Tomball Family Pictures

This sweet family from Tomball met with me on a gorgeous fall day for family pictures in the park, and the light was just magical! Their little one was so handsome and so much fun to work with, I had a lot of fun with this family for their holiday card pictures! There is nothing like giving out Christmas cards to your family and friends with beautiful pictures of your family!

This first image is now a 16×20 gallery wrapped canvas, hanging in their home to enjoy every day! The Woodlands Family Portraits in the Park

This lovely family came to me for their first ever portrait session as a family!  We chose this pretty park in the Woodlands for the greenery and this perfect bridge, and the light was really beautiful that day. We are having such a fantastic fall for family pictures, and I’m enjoying being outdoors on location for these sessions!

We started with more formal portraits on the bridge, for traditional family pictures for holiday cards and Christmas gifts for family.

Family Portraits – The Woodlands and Tomball

This beautiful family met with me on a perfect day full of sunlight and clear skies for their family portraits here in the Woodlands nearby Tomball. We wanted to shoot a mixture of posed portraits and some fun lifestyle images of the family just being together, for some real life type family pictures. I always love these natural family pictures best, with the warmth of laughter and happy smiles. Families tend to initially request standard portraits for their large wall pieces, such as framed portraits or canvases, but most often end up choosing the more natural, less posed lifestyle shots for their living room centerpiece.

This family chose this gorgeous shot of them walking together, hand in hand and laughing, down this sunlight path surrounded by greenery for their mantle piece. This image is now a 32×48 gallery wrapped canvas in their living room, and when I delivered it to their home and saw it there on the wall, I was so pleased to provide such a beautiful piece of wall art for this family to hand down through generations.

The Woodlands Couple Photographer

This kind and loving husband contacted me about  a surprise gift  for Christmas – a gift certificate for a photography session for the two of them together! It’s a lovely gift for anyone, to tell them you love them so much you want to celebrate that love by getting portraits taken together to cherish forever. So we set up the gift certificate for him to put under the tree, and it was awesome to finally meet this amazing couple for their fall session!

They just wanted beautiful, casual portraits of the two of them together as a couple, without any fancy props or elaborate set ups — just them, just their personalities shining through, just their happy smiles. We had a great time at our session, thanks for choosing me for this wonderful and thoughtful gift for your wife!

Outdoor Senior Pictures in the Woodlands and Spring TX

This gorgeous senior came all the way from Hargrove High for her senior portrait session, and what a beautiful day we had! After her complimentary hair and make up session (all you girls get treated to a fabulous salon day, with your session!), we met at this pretty country location in Spring, TX for a country style shoot out!

We had such pretty light on her session day, making for beautiful senior pictures full of sun and warmth. This sweet dress is perfect for a senior photoshoot — a little flowy, a pretty floral pattern, a pretty shade of lavender, a quirky gold bow, and an elegant top of ruched cream. Lovely!

Another outfit,  a flowy shirt with casual jean shorts. Having a pair of shorts or jeans at your session is always recommended for at least one set, so we can get some great poses that we can’t get with a skirt or dress.

It’s a good idea to choose a location that has different elements to incorporate into your senior session — stairs, building, a bridge, a pretty field with a wide open sky, a country road, or a gazebo. These make for variety in your senior pictures, plus add interest and visual lines. I love these stairs!!

Class of 2015 The Woodlands Senior Photographer

We had such an amazing time at Sheridan’s photoshoot, I was sad to see the sun set and the end of all that gorgeous light! For her senior photography session, we set up early to have enough time to fit all her gorgeous outfits in, and cover every inch of her chosen location, to get as much variety as we could for her senior portraits. She was such a trooper and kept on smiling. Definitely one of the stars of the Class of 2015 senior portrait year here!

We shot right at the edge of where the light met the shadows for some drama.  Those “walking” shots and “twirling” ones are pretty hard to get right, but Sheridan rocked all the poses! For her first outfit, she chose this fun and funky dress – black and white stripes with that brilliant pop of bright blue to set off her amazing eyes.

Time for  a change – second outfit! More casual, to do some seated shots and show off those awesome boots. The amazing make up artist, Monika Gallardo, can do anything with hair! I love the soft curls she did for Sheridan and she somehow works some magic so they stay in for the whole three hour shoot!

Walking around the waterways, we found some amazing colour in the trees. Shooting at the perfect angle, I got the reflection of the trees and that gorgeous colour in the water.

Last outfit change of the night, and we snuck away to shoot in this tiny little forested that was tucked away out of sight. I love being able to find special little places full of gorgeous light! The golden hour light on her long hair, with that ethereal skirt and enchanted forest feel, made for the perfect end to this Class of 2015 senior portrait session.

Adorable Sisters – Professional Photographer The Woodlands

Another gorgeous day for a family portrait session for this family from Spring, TX. A clear blue sky, beautiful fall light, a field of wheat coloured grasses and these adorable sisters – such a fun session!

For family portraits with little ones, I make sure to leave enough shooting time to accommodate snacks and time outs, and some cuddles with their favourite blanket or teddy bear. We’ll start with the family together, since at the beginning of the session children are often the most coooperative and a little curious, which helps get those formal shots where we want eye contact. We will move on to  mother-daughter and daddy-daughter portraits, so every child gets a special moment alone with mom and dad. They love this part of the photoshoot!  I won’t let you get away with not having a shot of the two of you together either — children love to see portraits of their parents, and walking by a portrait of their parents happy and together has been proven to help boost their self esteem and happiness!

 The kids are usually more at ease towards the end of the session, to get some individual and sibling shots. Families often worry about their little ones not cooperating, and sometimes all the naps and kisses in the world can’t make the portrait seem less scary for toddlers. With time and patience, we’ll get those family portraits you’re looking for! Some of my favourite child photographs are of the children just being themselves – and if teddy, a soother, or a comforting blanket is a part of your child’s life right now, making it a part of the portrait session (even if just to help soothe tears) may be something you’ll be thankful for years from now. I aim to capture your family, your children, as they are so you have those visual reminders in the years to come how they are NOW, while they’re little. Embrace this now, and document it forever.

Family of Boys – The Woodlands TX Portrait Photographer

Most families want their family portraits taken in spring or fall, when the weather is nice and temperate, and the flowers are in bloom or the leaves are changing towards beautiful fall colour.  This family flew in to their home town in Spring and the Woodlands for the holidays, and we were a little worried about the cold winter weather for their family portraits in January!  Chilly as it was, the winter light is really light and airy which makes for pretty photos, the sky is clear and blue, and the grass is a natural wheaten shade that looks rustic and country. Overall, it’s a really pretty look for your family photos and I rather like shooting in winter here.

This family with four  handsome boys braved a chilly but beautiful January afternoon for their photography session, and you’d never know they were cold by how natural they look in front of the camera! They struck every pose perfectly and were stylish to boot. Thanks for being such good sports!

Family Reunion The Woodlands Photographer

This family booked a family photography session for their get together around the holidays, on a beautiful crisp winter day full of sunlight and laughter. Since the family was getting together at the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center in the Woodlands, we arranged to have the family photo shoot on the resort grounds, outside by the docks and the gazebo. It was a great location for a family reunion photography session, and they knocked it out of the park with their classy outfits accented with blue.

For family event photography, where several families are getting together, I always make sure to shoot the entire family together and also to break off into small units so each family has a great photo of their own. With grandparents, it’s always great to have special shots of the grandparents with the children as well.

This photoshoot was a little more formal, so we did mostly posed portraits of the family units but I pull the kids away separately to get some shots of each individual in their lovely suits and outfits, all dressed up for picture day!

Family Portraits with a Lifestyle Twist – The Woodlands Photographer

When you’re shooting family portraits with the happiest little toddler, and you catch some of the best laughs,  you can’t help but smile when you see the final portraits! This little guy was so adorable, with the cutest smile and funniest expressions, it was easy to see how his parents were so laid back and relaxed for their family session. We were able to get some amazing shots of their family connection, for more of a lifestyle feel, which is harder to do with little ones who tend to shy away and take a while to come out of their shells. Not this little guy! He was grinning from ear to ear and ready to give kisses to mom and dad and pose for the camera.  This shoot really made my day!

Large Family Group Portraits in the Woodlands

I met this lovely family close to Christmas, for a family reunion portrait session. I love shooting families who are excited and happy to be back together in the Woodlands area, they always have a great energy. This family was ready for their family portraits with these beautiful cheery red accents and classic black, for a formal but stylishly fun look. The little ones surprised me with how well they posed for the camera! Such a fun family!

The family matriarch contacted me originally in early fall, to make sure her date was booked. I met with her in November, to look over the location near her home and make sure it was suitable for portraits, with sufficient light. I really enjoyed meeting her, and was looking forward to meeting the whole family.

The Sportsman – Senior Photographer in Conroe

When this Class of 2015  senior’s family contacted me for senior portraits up in Silverstone, Conroe I was pretty thrilled at the ideas they were tossing around for his senior pictures. They told me how he’s an outdoor sportsman – a fisherman, a hunter, proficient with the bow and arrow, and a lover of the great outdoors.  They had the perfect little spot in mind up in Conroe, where we could trek through the forest and along a muddy river bank, to get some great shots of him with his gear in a natural environment.

A senior with some cool hobbies? Shooting in the forest and in the mud? Trekking through the tall grass? Count me in! I love a shoot where we get to walk around and get some action shots, and shoot something a little different.

As we were shooting, I was told the area is known for having a 12 foot gator.  Now that I’d have love to have gotten a picture of….from a distance of course! Thanks so much to John for being a great subject, I had a lot of fun with this session!

Family Photographer in the Woodlands for Wall Canvases

The K family was definitely one of the most fun and laid back families I’ve had the pleasure to work with this year. What makes each family portrait session unique is the personalities of each family, and the energy they bring to their session, and how I use that to make personalized portraits for each client.

This family was all about having fun and laughter, and just being themselves for their portraits. After a few posed photos, we slowed things down and just let the family laugh and interact, to let their personalities shine through. I was also really happy that they brought the grandparents along for the shoot, and of course the adorable puppy!

This mom went home with six gorgeous large wall canvases to decorate her home with the faces of the ones she loves most. We designed a trio of wall hangings for the common room, with one of the family large in the middle and smaller ones of the boys and the parents on the sides, for a 3D effect.

Then for the playroom, mom chose these beautiful black and white portraits for a classic touch. The boys being boys in the middle, and one of each boy on the sides.
