Headshots in the Woodlands – The Question of Glasses

I have a lot of clients who ask if they should wear their glasses during their headshot session. That’s a personal question, and there area  couple of factors to consider. 

Do you absolutely need the glasses, and you feel strange without them? I would advise having your headshots taken exactly the way you look in every day life, so you feel comfortable and everyone will recognize you. 

However, if they are not always necessary, you can take a few without them for some variety. Also, consider if they are reflective. If so, the glare can hide your eyes, so it may be better to leave them off for a couple shots, or make sure the ones you bring show your entire pupil without obstruction.

Whatever you choose, I’m sure you’ll shine in your new profile photo!

Women in Business – Writers and Bloggers

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet these two writers, and long time friends, to photograph profile photos and website images for their upcoming project on women in the workforce. With their blog coming out this year, they wanted to have specific images that illustrate the modern woman as she works in a busy world. I had a lot of fun with these professionals in their fields, discussing their work and writing.

For this session, we urban locations in the Woodlands area where business people and travelers could work while on the go, such as parks and city center benches. It tells a story of the busy, modern business person no longer restricted to an office desk but within the community.

The Right Portrait for Linked In – The Woodlands Headshots

Choosing the right photograph to represent yourself and your business on takes time and some research. If you work for yourself, and want to add a headshot to your About me page or profile section, you’ll have to know the dimensions that your website needs.

For social media, usually a landscape orientation shot works best so if you want to crop square, such as for Instagram or your Facebook profile page, it will easily chop the sides off without affecting your heads/body/hair. It also helps for the quirky Linked In profile photo – that odd circular slot that makes it difficult to find the right shot.

DRESS FOR THE VIBE YOU WANT TO GIVE OFF
If you typically wear a business suit to work, you’ll want to dress like you’re ready to do business or meet a client. This helps present a cohesive look for your business presence.
